🌱 Reno Woman Found Severely Burned + Santa Crawl Arrests Down

Here are the top stories in Reno today:

  1. A woman in northeast Reno was found severely burned Saturday in grave condition. The victim was taken to a local hospital and then flown to the UC Davis Regional Burn Center because of the severity of her injuries. Reno Fire arson investigators and Reno police are investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Reno Police Department or contact Secret Witness. (Reno Gazette Journal)
  2. The Reno Police Department reported three arrests for Saturday's Santa Crawl and four citations, a significant drop from the last Santa Crawl in 2019. There was one felony arrest, one misdemeanor arrest, and one arrest for driving under the influence. There was also one traffic citation and three citations into municipal or community court. Police said these happened in the area of the Santa Crawl and may not have involved Santa Crawl participants; they thanked the community for keeping the event safe. (KOLO)
  3. Reno criminal defense attorney David Houston, who represented high-profile defendants in Reno and nationally, including the professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, died on Saturday following complications from surgery. (Reno Gazette Journal)
  4. The "Scouting for Food" holiday drive collected thousands of pounds of food for the St. Vincent's food pantry. (KOLO)
  5. On Friday, the Washoe County Health District honored the months-long efforts of Nevada National Guard members at the community's COVID-19 testing and vaccination site. (ThisisReno)
