🌱 SAT Moves Online + Increasing Diversity in Tech Education

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Reno.

Get on up, Reno! Let's get you all caught up to start this day off on an informed note. These are the most important things going on today in Reno.

Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:

  1. This past Tuesday, the College Board announced that they are going to move the SAT to a digital platform in 2024 to accomodate for the state of the world. The students and educators of Reno all have mixed opinions about the transition to the online SAT. However, students who wish to pursue higher education in Nevada are only mandated to take the ACT, which has been available to take online since 2018. (KRNV My News 4)
  2. The University of Nevada, Reno has been selected to become a partner with TechWise. It is an inclusion program created by TalentSpirit Inc. that enables students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to prepare for high-growth tech careers. 20 undergraduate students have already been awarded with full program scholarships to participate in the 18-month virtual program.   3. Six people have been put behind bars due to their connections with a residential burglary investigation in Lemmon Valley. According to reports, the six suspects broke into cargo containers and stole around $200,000 worth of medical equipment, vehicles, and priceless family heirlooms. (KOLO)

  • The Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets of Reno is asking for your help in spreading the word about Luci! Luci was lost on Jan. 25 near NW Reno Tappan and Montego.
