🌱 Senator Reid's Passing + $2,500 Reward in Search for Suspect

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Reno.

Morning, people of Reno! Dominique-Noelle Rafael here with today's edition of the Reno Daily.

First, today's weather:

Cloudy. High: 46 Low: 41.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:

  1. The University Libraries are mourning the passing of Senator Harry Reid. Not many people know how much Senator Reid has done for his community as a public servant, advocate, and historian. His impact on Nevada alone is something to be documented in history. Senator Reid was passionate about issues like water rights, clean energy, a better climate, and healthcare. He fought tirelessly for what he believed in and cannot be thanked enough. (Nevada Today)
  2. Authorities are offering a $2,500 reward in the search for the Reno homicide suspect that shot and killed a man this past weekend. Police said they responded to reports of a shooting at about 4:25 PM this past Saturday in the 1200 block of Gentry Way. Anyone with information should contact the police or Secret Witness. (SFGate)
  3. Bail has been set at $150,000 for Washoe sheriff's deputy who was accused of lewdness with a minor under 14. Currently, the deputy, Brian Fisher, is on leave from the Sheriff's office without pay. The judge has also mandated that Fischer should be under enhanced supervision, have no contact with the victims or minors, not be able to leave Washoe County, and not have access to firearms prior to leaving the jail.
