Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:
- Local business Sugar Salon has shut down after collecting thousands of dollars in deposits for spa services that clients never received. Due to this unfortunate incident, another local medical spa in Reno is stepping up to provide these services for free to the people who were scammed. Bella Grey Medical Spa owner Emily Bates recently reached out to News4 "to connect with the women who were featured in the story and offered to honor their remaining sessions." Bates also is encouraging the public to read reviews thoroughly and connect with established clients before making large deposits. (FoxReno.com)
- Since June is Pride Month, Helen Bansen, a Library Instructor at the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center, is taking a moment to rejoice and remember Reno's presence in LGBTQ+ cinema. Her article focuses on Jane Rule's 1985 film, Desert Hearts. The story emphasizes the choices that the characters have in life and how they should not let society try to narrowly define them. If you are interested in learning more, please check out the full article. (Nevada Today)
- Are you looking to find a new home in the Reno area? Patch and Redfin have got you covered. They have compiled a list of the best new homes on the market so you don't have to! There is a beautiful 1,716-square-foot home with three beds and two baths that you have to check out. For the full list, please read the full article. (Reno Patch)
