Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. Authorities are searching for Naomi Irion, an 18-year-old woman who was last seen outside Walmart in Fernley on Saturday. According to her brother, surveillance footage showed a hooded man force his way into her car and kidnap her around 5 a.m. on Saturday. At the time, Irion was waiting for a shuttle to take her to her job at Panasonic in Reno. A Facebook page has been created to help find Irion. (Patch)
  2. This afternoon, members of the Reno Fire Department will participate in the Northern Nevada FOOLS' annual Shamrock Shave to benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation. From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the RFD and other local firefighters will be at the Ole Bridge Pub (50 North Sierra Street) as they support the Foundation's mission to find a cure for childhood cancer. "Kids with cancer are our reason for doing this," Reno firefighter Jason Eastman said in a statement. "We look forward to this event every year, knowing our support has the power to help ease the burden of childhood cancer for local kids and their families." (City of Reno)
  3. Two years ago, Nevada ordered a sweeping shutdown of "non-essential" businesses. What was supposed to be a two-week closure turned into much longer for many companies. However, today, Reno businesses are rebounding and making a continuous recovery. Read about some incredible local businesses and how they've made a comeback. (KOLO TV)
