  1. A Reno man was arrested last week on multiple burglary and drug-related charges. On Jun. 11, Washoe County Patrol Deputies responded to reports of a trespasser at an active construction site near Interstate 80 and arrested 60-year-old Daniel Howard. Howard was allegedly also discovered in possession of illegal narcotics. (KRNV)
  2. A local optometrist is offering a free literacy program to improve reading skills for all ages. Dr. Richard Meier says he discovered a condition responsible for delaying reading development and has engineered a solution. A copy of the DIY program, which addresses jump eye movement, can be downloaded for free at the link. (KOLO)
  3. A new report released by the University of Nevada Las Vegas revealed that 60 percent of the most common occupations do not currently earn the income needed to afford rent for a studio apartment in Reno. According to the report, an individual would need to earn $128,420 a month to afford their monthly mortgage payments. The city's cost of living has also surpassed Las Vegas and some California cities. (This Is Reno)
