It also states that it is illegal for anyone to crack the whip to "injure, annoy, interfere with, or endanger the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others" within city limits.   2. Mayor Ed Lawson says contractors are on track to build over the last open plot of land in five years. This outcome would result in the City of Reno slowly crumbling. Nevadans pay a discounted property tax rate of 35 percent the full rate and Senator Julia Ratti's proposal to raise property taxes, which could ease growth, was rejected. Mayor Lawson says growth is the only option to sustain city services until the property tax rate in Nevada increases. Reno faces two options: to expand its boundaries or grow vertically. (KOLO)
  3. A motorcyclist was hospitalized after rear-ending a truck in Spanish Springs on Tuesday evening. Both the motorcyclist and the truck driver were impaired at the time of the crash. (KRNV My News 4)
