Here are the top stories today in Reno:

  1. The USPS staffing shortage may cause some delays. The Postal Service is hosting a job fair to fill immediate openings in Reno and Sparks for city carrier assistants, rural carrier associates, mail processing clerks, mail handler assistants, holiday help, and more. (KTVN)
  2. Despite the City of Reno reopening its chambers back in June, there was only one person in the room today during the city council's regular Wednesday meeting. City Manager Doug Thornley was the only person in the room as other attendees either attended virtually or not at all. (ThisisReno)
  3. Two convicted sex offenders are in custody after local law enforcement agencies in partnership with the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU) made the arrests. There are about 1,400 registered sex offenders in the Reno, Sparks and Washoe County areas. Each of the three investigators for RSONU is assigned to more than 400 offenders to monitor. (KTVN)
