- A woman was hit and killed by a train in Reno this past Tuesday night. This happened around 10:00PM near Sage Street and Commercial Row. Investigations are still being conducted privately to determine how this unfortunate incident took place. Currently, Sage and Sutro streets are closed. (KOLO)
- The Washoe county health district has launched a notification system that alerts people if they have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The alerts are sent via email and text message. Along with the exposure notifications, it provides protocols for self-isolation. (KRNV My News 4)
- Several Nevada students have recently been awarded for excellence in their high school health program. These health programs exposed the students to the diverse opportunities in healthcare and educated them on current and emergent health-related issues. This youth programming would not be possible without the help of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine's High Sierra Area Health Education Center. They target disadvantaged and rural area students for these programs. (Nevada Appeal)
