🌱 Wonders Of Wells Treasure Walk + Man Steals Duvall's Campaign Signs
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Reno.
Hey, friends! It's Thursday in Reno and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on the most important things happening locally. Hope you all have a great day. Enjoy...
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and warm. High: 90 Low: 60.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Reno who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Reno Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- Reno residents can explore the "Wonders of Wells" in an upcoming "Treasure Walk" along Wells Avenue. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jun. 25, attendees can visit participating shops to collect stickers and prizes, as well as take part in special events. Wells Avenue is one of Reno's most popular and picturesque neighborhoods, with plenty of art murals and businesses for visitors to enjoy. (This Is Reno)
- A man was arrested on Jun. 6 for stealing campaign signs in the south Reno area. 42-year-old Charles Baxter was caught on camera pilfering the signs of Timothy Duvall, who is running for state senate. As of the time of publication, it is unclear why Baxter stole the signs. (KRNV)
- A fire at a South Reno apartment complex has destroyed four units, with a fifth unit rendered unlivable due to smoke and water damage. As crews with the Reno Fire Department were responding to the blaze yesterday morning, they received updated reports regarding a possible explosion. Within ten minutes of the original call, at least two units were fully engulfed in flames; according to investigators, it is unusual for a fire to spread that quickly. (KOLO)
Today in Reno:
- Riverside Farmer's Market Summer Series At McKinley Park (4:00 PM)
- Tri-Lab At Martin Street (5:00 PM)
From my notebook:
- The Reno Rodeo Parade, a time-honored tradition postponed by the pandemic, will finally return downtown on the morning of Saturday, Jun. 18. (KKOH)
- Looking for a new home? Scope out these five upcoming open houses in and around Reno. (Reno Patch)
- The National Automobile Museum still has a few slots open for its Golf Classic on Jun. 20 — but you'll need to sign up fast. (National Automobile Museum via Facebook)
