Lincoln And Woodstock First Responders Host National Night Out Event
Hundreds of residents and visitors to the White Mountains region of Lincoln and Woodstock were treated to a free festival as part of NNO.
LINCOLN, NH — Hundreds of residents and visitors to the White Mountains region of Lincoln and Woodstock were treated to a free festival as part of the National Night Out event Tuesday, which connects people with their first responders.
There were K-9 demonstrations from State Police, a huge bubble machine pouring bubbles over an area for children to play in, more than 40 volunteer participating booths offering free kids tattoos, backpacks and brochures and opportunities for families to explore ambulances and fire trucks and meet police officers from the region and officials from Littleton Regional Hospital.

Each summer, Ryan Robertson and his family from Ashland, Mass., come to the area to vacation, and his mother said that annually, they get a chance to enjoy the celebratory event, which was held at the Granite State Railway parking area.
The boy met Jon Bouffard, chief of the Linwood Ambulance Service in its booth where he learned about how one would use a tourniquet to stop bleeding and also how to lock your elbows and provide chest compressions – hand over hand on a person’s chest – to get their heart to start beating again, with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Not only were there lots of police, fire, and ambulance providers in attendance with booths and displays but also a number of non profit groups like the New Hampshire Humane Society offering games and activities.
Offering food for the many hungry families on a lovely summer night were participants including the Indian Head resort, Pub 32 Pizza, El Charro, Woodstock Brewery and cookies from Arnold’ Wayside Dinner.
Bill Mead, a paramedic for Linwood Ambulance and a longtime ski patroller at Cannon Mountain said the event is a wonderful way for the region’s EMS community to celebrate summer with the people they serve and to allow them to learn more about the region and its important services not only to those who live and work in the region but to thousands of tourists who come from all over the region and the world to enjoy the area’s beauty.
National Night Out https://natw.org/about/ is part of a national community building campaign designed to strengthen the bonds between first responders and their communities.
