The decision, which was proposed by now-retired selectman George Infanti, had attracted criticism from residents and former selectmen. The decision had been shot down in a vote in February, which had selectmen Brad Galinson and Dwight Brew against the proposal.
Galinson was not at this week's meeting where the second vote took place and the motion passed.
