County Road Blaze in Amherst Under Control

Second alarm called to vehicle fire in a junkyard, according to alerts.

UPDATE, 1:10 p.m. The New England Emergency News and WX Feed is reporting that the fire on County Road is under control at this time. The fire was in a junkyard and firefighters feared it might hit a barn, too. Mutual aid was also called in to cover the town while they were fighting the blaze.

Amherst Fire and Rescue teams are reportedly attempting to douse a vehicle fire at 80 County Road.

It was initially reported to be a building fire at around 12:41 p.m. on July 30.

A few minutes later, a second alarm was called and the command was reporting that it was a fully involved vehicle fire, possibly extending to two other vehicles. A building might be exposed to the fire, too, according to the alert.
