Amherst Man Arrested for OUI Again

An early morning traffic stop this weekend led to a second OUI charge for an Amherst man.

Joshua Silva, 28, of Route 101A in Amherst, was arrested on Nov. 14, 2015, and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense.

Police stopped Silva while he was driving on Bedford Road for a motor vehicle violation.

“During contact with the officer, signs of impairment were detected and after a brief investigation, Silva was arrested for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor,” according to Lt. Paul Trepaney.

The charge was upgraded after it was found that this was the Silva was convicted of OUI in 2009. He was processed and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Nov. 24.
