Amherst Man Charged With Forgery
Police said Daniel Nugent allegedly passed several forged checks.

Daniel Nugent, 21, of 7 Washington Drive, Amherst, was arrested Feb. 1, charged with four counts of Forgery, Class B Felony.
On December 21, 2010, Uniform Operations Bureau took a report of a forgery from a Nashua resident. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation which concluded that Nugent had passed a forged check.
On December 27, 2010, and on July 12, 2011 Uniform Operations Bureau took a report of a forgery from a resident of Amherst. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation which concluded that Nugent had passed multiple forged checks in Nashua.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment in State Prison, exclusive of fines. A records check of Nugent indicated that he had active arrest warrants from Milford Police Department, Amherst Police Department and from the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Department. Nugent was released on $8,000 personal recognizance and was released to Milford Police Department. Nugent has a scheduled arraignment date of Feb. 24.
