Amherst Rep Roll Call on 24-Hour Wait For Abortion

How did your state reps vote on HB1659?

The New Hampshire House of Representatives passed a bill on Wednesday that would require women to undergo a 24-hour waiting period before getting an abortion.

The bill was approved by a 185-138 vote and also requires doctors to explain the procedure, estimate the fetus' gestational age and offer alternatives to abortion.

It was amended to remove requirements for women to see detailed photos of a fetus and a video as part of their counseling. It also makes an exception if the mother's life is in danger or delay will create a "serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function."
