Hansen announced his intent to run again in an announcement on Amherst Patch:
I am announcing my intention to run for re-election to a House of Representatives seat in the NH legislature from district 22 comprising Amherst and Bedford. Many of you know that the state has been redistricted and unless current lawsuits prevail which is unlikely but possible Amherst will have the opportunity to elect 4 representatives to the NH House, 3 representatives will be from Amherst and the 4th will be elected by both Amherst and Bedford to the floterial seat which will represent both towns. The floterial member may be from either town.

I deeply appreciate your support in my successful election campaign in our last election cycle and trust my record and attention to issues affecting Amherst and Milford, have warranted your further support in the upcoming elections. The preservation of and continuing existence of the Milford District Court, rescinding of the automobile registration surcharge for your automobile registrations, balancing our state budget and improving the business climate here in NH resulting in a reduction of unemployment are just a very few of the important accomplishments I am pleased to recount as major issues resolved while serving you this term. Thank you for the opportunity to maintain the NH Advantage.
