​Amherst Residents Win Pumpkin Carving​ Contest

Daniel Lamontagne​ and Katey O'Brien​ won the grand prize at the New England and Jackson Invitational Pumpkin Carving Competition.

Daniel Lamontagne and Katey O'Brien won the grand prize at the New England and Jackson Invitational Pumpkin Carving Competition last weekend. The contest, in Jackson, was sponsored by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, and gave contestants two days to carve at least eight pumpkins. The team ended up carving 13.

"This was our first competition ever and he has only been carving for only about four years," she noted.

Lamontagne and O'Brien were the only team from New Hampshire competing. Contestants traveled to the state from as far away as Texas and Kansas.
