Apple Specialist Moves To New Home

Brinestone set up shop at their new, smartly-designed location in Lowes Plaza this month.

Moving a business only 200 yards away can mean a world of difference in attracting local customers.

Brinestone recently moved from its spot near Seasonal Specialty Stores to the vacant space left by a Lindt Factory Outlet in the Lowes Plaza.

The owner of the Apple specialist and PC sales/repair business, Matt Bernard, said that this new location is a perfect fit for Brinestone. He said that being next to larger chains such as Supercuts and Gamestop allows more potential customers to pass by his store.

“I’ve definitely noticed more foot traffic and general curiosity and the sales reflect that,” said Bernard. “It just comes down to location.”

Being next to a video game store also brings in more of the store’s target demographic of tech-savvy individuals with a keen eye for the hottest technological trends.

He said the previous location was tough to get into off of Route 101A and it just didn’t have the draw that the new one does. The move was a gamble that has so far paid off in sales and natural foot traffic into his business.

This is not the first move that his tech business has made over the years. Brinestone was formed out of Bernard’s home in Milford at the end of 2008, and took its first customer at the beginning of 2009. From there he moved to a co-owned space in Nashua before moving his business back to Milford before setting into the previous Amherst retail location in 2010.

It is not just the location that matters to a good retail business, according to Bernard, but also the design. His new store is bigger, more open and has a cleaner design modeled after the philosophy of the successful Apple company.

Bernard made sure the design was minimalist and provided a comfortable environment for customers.

The entrance to the store is filled with open space and visitors are greeted with a simple setup for their shopping experience. Tables comfortably display his products with very few distractions to take them out of the experience.

Time was taken to make sure the right colors, materials and organization was used to provide the best customer experience possible.

“It looks very much like, if not better than, an official Apple store,” he said.

The big move is not the only big thing for Brinestone, because the owner is also looking into expanding his business into online sales. Bernard is currently revamping his website to create a web portal for his customers.

Of course he said one thing will remain unchanged, and that is Brinestone’s commitment to honesty, integrity and ethics

“Personally, I think that those are the core fundamentals for any business owner,” said Bernard.
