Ayotte Welcomes Hassan to 2016 NH Senate Race
Incumbent: We have lots to talk about including confronting challenges facing our state, how we can best deliver results for NH families.

Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, launched her bid to become the next U.S. Senator from New Hampshire in 2016 and the incumbent, U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, formally welcomed her to the race.
“I welcome Governor Hassan to this race and look forward to a very spirited campaign,” Ayotte said. “We have lots to talk about, including confronting the challenges facing our state and how we can best deliver results for New Hampshire families.”
Ayotte said that as a working mom who commutes from Nashua every week, she was guided by the concerns and solutions Granite Staters have share with her.

“In the Senate, I fight every day for better opportunities and a brighter future for our kids and our state,” she said. “I’m running for reelection so I can continue working across the aisle to solve problems and deliver results for you. Whether it’s stopping wasteful spending, fighting for fairness in the workplace, creating a better climate for small businesses to create jobs, protecting our environment, or keeping our country safe, I wake up every day focused on providing solutions for the issues you care about.”
Ayotte, according to a campaign statement, is ranked the 7th most bipartisan Senator and has been recognized as a Problem Solver by the independent group No Labels. A New Hampshire native, Kelly lives in Nashua with her husband Joe, a small business owner, and their two children, Kate and Jake. Previously, Kelly served as New Hampshire’s first female Attorney General, where she was first appointed by a Republican governor and twice reappointed by a Democrat.
