Bass Touts List of 400 Supporters
After a tight election in 2010, congressman says he is redoubling efforts in 2012.

U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass says he is not taking anything for granted in 2012, having narrowly won the 2nd District seat over Democrat Annie Kuster two years ago.
To that end, his campaign announced, they have assembled a community leadership team of more than 400 people. The Republican says his is a message of "bi-partisan problem-solving, fiscal responsibility, and private-sector job creation."
The list includes some familiar Republicans, such as Franklin Mayor Ken Merrifield, Executive Councilor Raymond Burton, state Rep. Mary Griffin of Windham, and activist and author Jennifer Horn of Nashua.

Griffin, in a statement provided with the Bass announcement, said,

The state primary is Sept. 11. And though there are four others vying for the Republican nomination, Bass' incumbency, name recognition and campaign war chest are three reasons why political observers say it is no contest.
In one of the closest congressional battles brewing in the country, all eyes are on a Bass-Kuster rematch on Nov. 6. Kuster is the only Democrat running for the 2nd District.
