Board Member Honored For Years of Service
Jeanne Ludt is stepping down after 12 years on the Souhegan Cooperative School Board.

One longtime member of the Souhegan Cooperative School Board will be sorely missed by her peers after her term ends this year.
Jeanne Ludt will not be seeking re-election after serving on the board and various committees for 12 years. She was honored for her years of service by fellow board members and school administrative staff after Monday’s deliberative session.
Board chair Christine Janson said in a speech that Ludt is passionate about Souhegan and the people who encompass it.

Janson said that she has worked tirelessly to make sure that the school district presents reasonable budgets and good, solid policies on behalf of the taxpayers.
She lauded her organization, commitment and her habit of keeping just about every document she comes across for her archives. Also, she said her work on a wide variety of committees has been a huge benefit to the school in so many ways.

"She has served on so many committees, it is difficult to list them," said Janson.
Ludt said that the school is in good hands with the current school board and that she believes in the “rock solid” foundation of the school.
“It is a place that creates amazingly well prepared and very skillful with people,” she said. “When my husband and I pay our tax bill every year, we feel we have made an excellent investment in our future.”
She added that she did not understand the high school completely when she first took the board position, but after 12 years she feels like she has become a part of the school.
“When I was trying to get my arms around Souhegan, Souhegan got its arms around me,” she said.
Souhegan principal Jon Ingram presented Ludt with a ceremonial Souhegan vase in honor of her years of service, as well as a piece of art depicting Souhegan High School by Marianne Stillwagon. She also received a letter from Governor Lynch applauding her work for the school district.
