Board to discuss OHRV Ordinance, Vacation Benefits

The Amherst Select Board will be looking into a proposed OHRV ordinance and revisit the issue of vacation benefits at tonight's meeting.

The board has been looking into the vacation time taken by town employees since the issue was taken up last month. Employees were maxing out vacation carry-overs, which contrary to the Employee Policy Handbook.

According to the Board, some employees have not been able to take their allotted vacation time due to the workload required for their position.

The proposed draft will include the policy, how to address cases where people are not able to take vacations, and the need for an exception procedure.
