
Track & Field results for Amherst Middle School on April 5:
Mikayla Hickey broke the school record in the long jump with a leap of 15’ 7” in leading the girls to a commanding win. She also took first in the 100 with a fast 13.27 and first in the 200 while anchoring the 4 x 100 relay to a second place finish. Mikayla scored 32 of the teams points followed closely by Anna Farrow with 28 ½ (1st in hurdles, 2nd in 400 & long jump, 1st in 4 x 200 relay). Erica Chareth combined for 23 ½ points with 2nd place finishes in the hurdles & high jump and a 3rd in the 400 while leading off the 4 x 200 relay. Other top performers included: Casey Johnson with 20 points (2nd in 100 & 200, 4th in long jump), Kate Bermingham (1st in 400, 3rd in 800, 4 x 200 relay), Hannah Gillis (1st in 1600, 4th in 800), Jessica Ewing (1st in 800, 3rd in 1600) and Madeleine Hunt (2nd in both 1600 & 800).
The boys were led by Cameron Behn (1st in 200 & 4 x 200 relay, 2nd in hurdles 6th in high jump, Ely Marciano (2nd in 400 & 200, 1st in 4 x 200 relay), Matt Blood (1st in long jump, 2nd in 100 & 4 x 100 relay) and Keelan McKenzie (1st in 800, 3rd in 400, 1st in 4 x 200 relay). Erich Rothoff also took a 1st place in the shot put.
The teams host West Runnng Brook, Windham & Hood this Thursday.
