Amherst Town Government Issues
Unanswered questions to reported town events have contributed to an increasingly large and disillusioned citizenry.

Correspondence and communication to me suggests the inability of the town government to satisfactorily respond to questions, cooperate in furnishing information and communicate effectively with the citizens has begun to raise additional questions and also the ire of not just a few residents. As an elected state official I deliberately refrain from becoming entwined in local issues unless or until that issue(s) prompts inquiry and calls for action by the constituents I took an oath to represent. It then becomes my obligation to provide answers and remedy for those constituents.
I would hope the issues surroundling the Town manager, the long ongoing and unacceptable accounting procedures, and the now infamous dump truck purchase/lease events could be addressed to the satisfaction of all. Based on the admittedly limited information available there appears to be events which have the potential to involve state agencies such as the DRA, AG, and the call for a burdensome expensive state audit, not to mention the cost to the town of funding the judgement(s) of the potential lawsuits which seem to inevitably appear in situations such as these.
It would be the best course of action for the town to address the publics concerns in an open and factual manner allowing the facts to resolve any concerns and the problems which may or may not exist to be addressed.
