Amherst Town Hall Under Siege?

Amherst Town Hall requires major repair after recent significant remodeling and update.

I had occasion to be at the town hall the other evening and was stunned to be greeted by ominous fresh cut/looking super heavy duty beams rising from all the floor levels into holes punched into the ceiling. What is this I thought? Nothing in the newspapers how could this be? Unconfirmed reports are telling that the roof is falling in and need support from the lower floors to prevent a catastrophe. Apparently there is going to be more support needed from the taxpayers as well! It boggles my mind how in less than what(?) 5 or 6 years after spending (correct me if I'm wrong) about 4 million dollars or for that matter even 1 million dollars how this could occur? It would be interesting to hear from our elected officials exactly what is happening and why. Seems like there is  too much information being withheld from the public and not just lately. The Nashua Telegraph recently had a few unkind words regarding secrets being kept by the administration which according to them was in violation of the state Right To Know laws. Don't know why the Telegraph didn't pursue their court action? I understand there may be further Right To Know action taken by the Union Leader to get to the bottom of the Town Administrator issue. We'll see. This past term the state legislature spent vast amounts of time passing laws to insure significantly more openness in the state's business. The local communities should recognize the public right to know and provide the information before the state reacts to pressure and passes even more ominous right to know laws.
