Delaware Punkin Chunkin Championship competitors from Amherst NH

Jay Goodell and Mike Powers, formerly of Amherst NH competed in the World Punkin Chunkin Championship in Bridgeville Delaware over the weekend.  Mike came in 1st in the catapult division with 1,975 feet and Jay came in 6th in the trebuchet division with 1,534 feet.  This is their 4th year competing along with over 100 pumpkin throwing machines.  Jay first learned to build catapults in a physics class at Souhegan High School with some of the best science teachers - Paul Schlotman and Chris Balch.  Jay and Mike attended Clarkson University and are currently working as engineers in Merrimack NH.
