Peg Bennett and Lucienne Foulks for Amherst School Board

Peg Bennett and Lucienne Foulks: Two candidates for Amherst School Board who have made a difference...

On voting day March 12, I would like you to consider re-electing Peg Bennett and Lucienne Foulks to the Amherst School Board. Peg and Lucienne have represented us on the school board for 6 and 3 years respectively and during that time they have worked diligently to maintain a high quality of education for our preK-8 students.

As a former two-term Amherst School Board member and chairperson for 3 of those years, I know the amount of time, energy, and commitment required to be an effective school board member. During their terms on the Amherst School Board, Peg and Lucienne have demonstrated their commitment to our schools through their ability to see and implement necessary changes that have benefited both the schools and the taxpayers. This kind of effective leadership requires foresight, determination, and perseverance.

I believe Peg and Lucienne’s service to our community has not only helped to maintain the high standards for education we have come to expect in Amherst, but they have done so by keeping a keen eye on a lean budget. They ask tough questions and expect meaningful, targeted responses not only from the administration, but from the board as a whole.

For taxpayers, parents and students, re-electing Peg and Lucienne is an ongoing assurance toward keeping our preK-8 schools high quality and affordable. I am grateful for their immeasurable commitment to our schools and I hope you will join me by re-electing Peg Bennett and Lucienne Foulks to the Amherst School Board.
