Re-elect Dwight Brew for Amherst Selectman

Please join me in supporting Dwight Brew for Amherst Selectman on March 12^th.

Dwight and I served the Amherst community on the Amherst School Board together from 2003-2007. During that time, I had the opportunity to work closely with Dwight and experience first hand his intelligence, his ability to work for the highest good of the Amherst community, and his gift for being able to keep things in perspective.

Dwight excels in many areas, among them are: financial analysis, policy writing, and aptitude. Dwight understands budgets inside and out and well enough to explain them to anyone who has a question. Through working with Dwight, I have witnessed his ability to take convoluted budget information and have it make sense. This was apparent during budget meetings when Dwight would be able to synthesize a variety of conditions and ask pertinent questions, thereby assisting the Board in developing viable budgets.  Working with policies has always been an area where Dwight excels.  When Dwight first came onto the Amherst School Board, he assisted the Board by bringing our purchasing policy up to a respectable standard.  This required knowledge of the District, purchasing habits, and current concerns, as well as working with an already established Board. Dwight brought an amiable, rollup our shirtsleeves attitude to the Board that assisted us in moving our District forward. As chairperson, I was continually impressed by Dwight’s ability to take complicated issues, digest them, and provide explanations to both the Board and taxpayers.

Dwight is an authentic, down to earth person. My experience has shown me that Dwight Brew demonstrates the skills, strengths, and integrity to address issues that face the Amherst Board of Selectmen. Please join me in supporting Dwight on voting day.
