Support Shannon Chandley

Dear Editor,

We would like to encourage voters in Amherst to elect Shannon Chandley to the NH House of Representatives representing Amherst -  Milford. Already having been  a member of the legislature, Shannon served us well from 2008-2010.  She has been actively involved in the Town of Amherst and in the state of New Hampshire as a volunteer.  She has an outstanding list of volunteer work:Board of Directors, Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains;Board of Directors, SHARE;Council Member, University of Rhode Island, College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Advisory Council;Advisory Board, Nashua Community College, Peace and Justice BoardMember, Amherst Junior Women's Club,  Souhegan Valley Quilters Guild and the Amherst PTA.  In addition she has been an active supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, Souhegan High School, local theatre, dance,  arts and youth sports.  All of this volunteer work and active support of community organizations demonstrates that Shannon knows the needs of the Amherst community.Shannon and her husband and four children have resided in Amherst for the past ten years, and have been active the entire time. From 2008 to 2010 I served with Shannon in the New Hampshire House of Representatives and witnessed her outstanding legislative abilities.Shannon was recognized for her leadership abilities and was nominated by the Speaker of the House to attend the State Legislative Leadership Forum.  This Emerging Leaders Program is designed for those men and women who are judged by their peers to be likely future leaders in their state. 50 of these potential leaders convened for a series of intense interactive discussions.  These legislators are given many opportunities to measure their expertise and knowledge with many successful political and business leaders.

Shannon Chandley will represent all constituents,  Republicans, Democrats and Independents as she has demonstrated in the past.  She is committed to the basic principles of good government, common sense problem solving, fiscal responsibility, protecting individual rights and social tolerance.

We strongly encourage the voters of Amherst to vote for Shannon Chandley on Tuesday, November 6.

Sincerely,

Ann Connell Bergin
Peter Bergin, Former State Representative,  1996-2010
