Trains and Taxes and Subsidies
Self serving southern NH communities steal money from the road tax to pay for subsidized commuter rail out of state encouraging work in MA rather than bringing businesses to NH.
It's only what 4 cents!!?? I wonder how all the folks north of Concord feel about paying more for gas so Nashua, Manchester, and Concord can have subsidized train rides out of state, to work for out of state companies, pay out of state income taxes so they can take a subsidized train ride back to NH and b**ch about the high property taxes in NH? And of course how many of the hundreds of unsafe bridges in rural NH will not be repaired because once again they want to raid the road tax for projects other than roads? Maybe we should institute a 4 cent per rail car per mile tax on the railroads to pay for railroad projects?
