Candidates Filing For School Officer Positions

It may be a quiet race for positions in SAU #39 this year.

All of the candidates that have filed for the Amherst and Souhegan school boards are newcomers, with no incumbents have filing for re-election as of yet.

Current Mont Vernon School Board member Trevor Girard will be running for re-election this year.

There are still four positions in Mont Vernon that have no declaration of candidacy so far. Candidates are still needed for a three-year term as a school board member, school district clerk, treasurer and moderator.

The following are candidates who have applied so far:

Amherst School Board

Amy Facey – 2  year term

Paul Prescott – 3 year term

Souhegan School Board

Marilyn Peterman - 3 year term

Jane Pollio - 3 year term

Mont Vernon School Board

Trevor Girard – 3 year term

The last day to file is Friday, Feb. 3 at no later than 5:00 p.m.

Elections for these positions will take place on March 13, 2012.
