Conference Examines Municipal Development with National, Local Speakers
Selectmen, planning and zoning, as well as elected officials and civil engineers, are encouraged to attend event.

A day-long conference examining building and development in New Hampshire will be held on Sept. 26, at the Peterborough Townhouse.
Charles Marohn will be the keynote speaker at the event, which will be of interest to members of municipal boards of selectmen, planning and zoning, as well as elected officials and civil engineers. Marohn, author of “Thoughts on Building Strong Towns” (vol.1), speaks to a development model that enables communities to be financially strong and resilient.
Other speakers include R. John Anderson, speaking on Lean Urbanism, which is about shifting “the scale of building and rebuilding to fit existing towns and neighborhoods to cultivate wealth and jobs;” Kevin Klinkenberg, on The Rise of the Walking and Biking Culture; Rick Chellman discusses how to build beautiful and safe streets; Karen McGinley on the political realities of zoning changes and Dan Bartman concludes with Lessons Learned: Things that Become Apparent After Working in the Field.
