Creating Online Stores with WordPress workshop

As a follow-up to the popular “Creating Websites with WordPress” course, the Amherst Recreation Department will be offering this new web development workshop designed for anyone who has a basic understanding of WordPress and wishes to add an attractive, fully-functioning online store to the website for their business or not-for-profit organization.

Through a series of hands-on exercises, each student will utilize one of the leading free e-Commerce tools to set up their store, integrate the store seamlessly with their WordPress website, describe and price their products and services, add multimedia content, manage orders and accept payment transactions.  The store will integrate beautifully and seamlessly with your Web site.  Visitors to the store will be able to browse the products and services offered, add items to a shopping cart, place orders, pay for their purchases or make cash donations, and download any digital content that they purchase.

The instructor for this class is Jonathan May, Amherst resident and President of YourPresenceOnTheWeb.com, an Amherst-based e-marketing consultancy.  Mr. May also teaches the “Creating Websites with WordPress” course that has been offered several times through the Rec Department.
