Amherst Recreation's Fall Festival Returns!

Get ready for apple bobbing, pumpkin decorating and even a chicken dance competition.

Join your neighbors in celebrating the greatest season of all.

Amherst Recreation's Third Annual Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Peabody Mill Environmental Center from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The following fun activities are scheduled for the day:

  • Noon-6:00pm Concession Stand. (Enjoy a cup of hot cider, a bowl of chili, a meatball sub or perhaps a hot dog or two!)
  • Noon-4:00pm Crafts (pumpkin decorating, scare crow making, mask design, frame decoration, pilgrim finger puppets, acorn trees, corn husk doll and many more!)
  • 1:00pm & 3:00pm Foliage Trail Hikes
  • 2:00pm Chicken Dance Competition
  • 2:00pm Food Prep for Dutch Oven Demonstration
  • 2:30pm Egg Toss
  • 2:30pm Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstration
  • 3:00pm Sack Race/Tug of War
  • 3:30pm Apple Bobbing/Treat in a Hay Stack
  • 4:00pm Pie Eating Contest & Orienteering Race
  • 4:30pm Scary Stories around the fire
  • 5:00pm Haunted Hike & Smore's
  • 6:00pm Good Night!

The festival will cost $5 per Amherst Resident, $7 per Nonresident, $12 per Amherst Resident Family and $16 per Nonresident Family.
