Follow the Town Budget

The Board of Selectmen approved their budget timeline for the next fiscal year. The following are the dates set for the town budget:

September 26 meeting - Presentation of Department Reviews to Board of Selectmen

October 3 meeting  - Presentation of Department Reviews to Board of Selectmen

September 26 to October 14 - Develop FY12 Budget and draft warrant articles, entry of budget into AMASE by Department Heads

October 14 - Deadline for budget submittal to Town Administrator, all Department Warrant Article drafts submitted to TA

October 17 to October 21 - Review discussion between Department Heads and Town Administrator, Initiate discussions between BOS, W&M, and Dept Heads to exchange availability for upcoming subcommittee meetings.

October 24 meeting - Regular BOS Meeting

October 24 to November 4 - Budget Presentations to budget subcommittees (BOS rep, W&M rep(s), TA and DH)

November 7 - Begin weekly meeting schedule, begin Public Budget Presentations to the BOS/W&M

November 14 meeting -Public Budget Presentations to the BOS/W&M

November 21 meeting - Public Budget Presentations to the BOS/W&M

November 28 meeting - Public Budget Presentations to the BOS/W&M

December 5 meeting - Public Budget Presentations to the BOS/W&M if necessary, and/or BOS and W&M discussions on final budget and warrant articles.

December 12 meeting - BOS and W&M discussions on final budget and warrant articles.

December 29 meeting - BOS and W&M discussions on final budget and warrant articles if necessary.

(Required meetings TBD to finalize budget/warrant)

January 10 - Last day to give notice of budget public hearing, any bond hearing and last day to accept petition warrant articles, also Budget Submission Date, Last day to finalize CBA cost items.

January 17 - Last day for public hearings on budget and any bonds.

Week of February 6 meeting - First session of Town Meeting (Deliberative Session)

March 6 - Second Session of Town Meeting (Voting Day)
