Children's Clothing Store To Turn Into Vet Office?

An application has been submitted to turn the former location of The Rugged Bear into a veterinarian office.

A building permit application for a veterinarian office was submitted by a general contractor late last week, according to Amherst Planning Director Sarah Marchant.

The property is located at 105 Ponemah Road in Amherst, N.H. Marchant said the application has not yet been reviewed by the building inspector.

The Rugged Bear's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early 2011 and closed all 29 of its stores, according to the Nashua Telegraph. The longtime regional chain of children's clothing stores has since opened up a new headquarters in New York City.
