Today is National Voter Registration Day, and thousands of local, state and national organizations have mobilized to make sure millions of people don’t miss the chance to cast their vote in this year’s elections.
Six million people didn’t vote in the 2008 elections because they either did not know how to register or because they missed the voter registration deadline.

- Voter information is available at the Town Clerk’s office at the Amherst Town Hall. You can register to vote there as well.
- Important election forms can be found at the Secretary of State's website.
- Brush up on election laws before you hit the polls
- Qualified individuals may also register to vote at the polling place on election day at all elections. You will be asked to show proof of age, citizenship and domicile.
