Jaffrey Man Arrested for DWI After Route 124 Crash

NHSP: Ty Newman of Jaffrey was arrested; he and two people from Rindge were injured during the crash.

New Hampshire State Police were called to an accident at just after 5 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2015, involving two vehicles on Route 124 in Marlborough near the intersection with Frost Hill Road.

The initial investigation revealed that a gray 2002 Mercury Sable operated by Ty Newman, 23, of Jaffrey, was traveling westbound on Route 124. Simultaneously, a black 2009 Honda Fit operated by a Rindge woman in her 50s, was traveling eastbound in the same area. There was also a male passenger in the Honda Fit. In the area just west of Frost Hill Road, the Sable reportedly crossed over the centerline into the eastbound travel lane striking the Honda Fit in a near head on fashion.

The initial investigation also revealed that the operator of the Sable was “impaired from prescription drugs at the time crash,” according to the NHSP. He was transported from the scene to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene with serious but non-life threatening injuries and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
