Last Chance: Fourth Of July Pin Contest

The deadline for the annual Amherst Fourth of July Pin Design Contest is Friday, March. 30.

Amherst Middle School students have one more week to submit a design that will be used in this year's Fourth of July celebration.

The Deadline for Designs:  March 30, 2012

Directions:

  • Pins should emphasize simplicity and clarity.  On the final pin, a black or gold line separates every color and detail.  If there are too many details, too much of the space will be taken up with lines and the details will get crowded out. The design should be 3 inches in diameter.
  • The design, or picture, must reflect the theme of the celebration, which is "Summer Fun" for 2012.
  • Each artist may submit more than one design.
  • The winning design will be computerized to make it "camera ready" as required by the pin company.  Some changes may be made to the design at that time.

The Winner Will:

  • Receive a $25 check on the Fourth of July during the reviewing stand ceremony or by the mail during the following week, if desired.
  • Be invited to ride in a convertible in the parade with a friend of his or her choosing.
  • Have his or her picture in the newspaper along with the teacher.
  • Have his or her design made into a pin that is sold on the Fourth as a fundraiser for the Celebration.
  • Receive three free pins.

All Participants:

Receive a certificate for ice cream at .
