Barack Obama and Ron Paul were the only candidates to receive donations from Amherst residents in the third quarter this year.

Two candidates stood out when it came to campaign contributions from Amherst residents last quarters.

President Barack Obama and Ron Paul were the only campaigns to receive political donations from our town between July 1 and Sept. 30.

In total, Obama received $1,400 in donations from seven residents, and Paul received $464 from three residents.

These results are similar to the , with Romney being the only other candidate to receive a donation from an Amherst resident during that time ($2,500).
