Man Who Held Clinton Campaign Workers Hostage Missing from Halfway House

Leeland Eisenberg was not in his room when a population count was conducted Sunday afternoon.

Leeland Eisenberg, the man who held Hillary Clinton campaign workers hostage in Rochester in 2007, is missing from a minimum security facility, according to state corrections officials. 
 
Eisenberg, 52, went missing from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester around 3 p.m. Sunday, according to the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. He was not in his room during a regular population count and was placed on walkaway status.
 
He is described as 5' 6", 220 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He was sentenced in Strafford County Superior Court to 3-1/2 to 7 years and began serving these sentences in the New Hampshire State Prison on May 6, 2010. He would have been eligible for parole on Aug. 6 of this year.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating.

Eisenberg is not considered armed. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
