Update: Eversource Says Equipment Failure Caused Outage

More than 2,300 customers were without power earlier this week in Amherst, Merrimack.

Update, 10:09 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2015: Eversource says equipment failure was the cause of an outage that hit 2,350 customers at around 8 p.m. on Dec. 16. The outage was restored in stages. Everyone was restored at around 12:45 a.m. on Dec. 17.

Update, 11:09 a.m. Eversource has just issued another note on Twitter stating they are hoping to have complete restoration by 12:15 a.m.

Update, 9:48 p.m. Eversource is reporting that it is going to take a little more time to restore power to 600-plus without power in the area. They’ve set a restoration time of about 11 p.m. for the remaining customers.

Update, 9:11 p.m. Eversource NH is reporting that it hopes to have power restored to more than 1,800 customers in Amherst and Merrimack by 10 p.m.

Update, 8:54 p.m. Merrimack Police just reported that there were wires down in Amherst causing outages in both towns. Eversource is at the scene. More than 1,800 are without power at this hour but no restoration estimation time yet.

AMHERST, NH - Eversource NH is reported more than 2,300 customers in both Amherst and Merrimack are without power.

The company first reported the outage on Twitter at around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2015. It stated that it had a power crew being sent to the area to find out what the problem was. The outage represents about 11 percent of customers in Amherst and 15 percent of Merrimack that are without power. A single customer in Nashua was reportedly without power. Earlier this evening, an outage was reported on Goffstown.

A post time, the company did not have a restoration time estimate.
