Murder-Suicide Being Investigated in Amherst

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, the New Hampshire State Police, and the Amherst Police Department are currently investigating a murder-suicide in Amherst, according to a statement for the NH AG.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence and reportedly found an adult woman and her adult male son deceased in the home.

“Although the investigation is still in the early stages and ongoing, the two deaths appear to be the result of a murder-suicide,” according to the statement. “The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting autopsies on the deceased to determine their exact cause and manner of death.”

No further information is expected to be released at this time.
