NH Unemployment Rate Falls

WMUR reports that unemployment in the state has dropped to 5.1 percent.

Things are looking a bit better for New Hampshire after a .4 percent drop in unemployment.

New Hampshire's unemployment rate dropped slightly in December to 5.1 percent, according to WMUR News 9.

Governor John Lynch said that this is the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the nation, which averaged at 8.5 percent in December.

He said that the fact that New Hampshire's rate is lower than the national average is proof that the state's economic strategies were working.

WMUR reports that the New Hampshire unemployment rate peaked at 6.7 percent in September 2009.
