Stepping into their roles just two years ago, this dedicated team has done a fantastic job keeping the spirit of Girl Scouting alive, vibrant, and growing in their communities. Their teamwork and commitment are reflected in their exceptional accomplishments this year: The team achieved an incredible 100 percent retention rate, successfully retaining 19 eligible troops, smoothly transitioning two graduating troops, and welcoming two brand-new troops into their community. They actively championed membership growth by hosting local Open Houses, organizing preschool and library flyer distributions, managing a strong social media presence, and hosting an interactive information event for prospective families. Embracing core Girl Scout values, the team supported a completely girl-led Fall Camporee, where the girls themselves took the lead on planning the daily activities, evening programs, and overnight schedules. Thanks to the team's strong support and encouragement, their troops met or exceeded the council's participation targets for both the Fall Product and Girl Scout Cookie programs.
The Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes volunteers who have performed beyond the expectation of their position and have supported the council’s mission delivery goals.

Tabatha Moriarity has been instrumental in coordinating community programs for Amherst Girl Scouts of all ages with the support from Daisie Ross and troop leaders. Her Girl Scouts have gone ice skating, camping, had a Brownie sleepover, participated in Memorial Day and Labor Day Parades, and went rock wall climbing in Concord. She also organizes community service projects such as donations to local food pantry, an Earth Day cleanup, and placing kindness rocks at the local library.
Moriarity ensures that the Amherst/Mont Vernon Girl Scouts are visible in the community and actively assists with recruitment events and open houses. This year, two new Daisy troops were started in Amherst and Mont Vernon with support from her efforts. She also provides support with media and encourages communication.
She leads a very active 6th grade Cadette troop in Amherst, whose members continue to learn new skills by working on badges, participate in community events, and earn Girl Scouts’ higher awards.

We are Girl Scouts of the USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character.
Girl Scouts discover who they are, tap into the power inside them, and build the confidence to let it shine. Through programs from coast to coast and overseas, girls of all backgrounds and abilities come as they are to explore their passions, meet new challenges, and develop hands-on skills. They find their strengths in science labs and on hiking trails, at cookie booths and in front of city councils. Backed by millions of alums and a network of dedicated adult volunteers and mentors, Girl Scouts drive change to make the world a better place. Along the way, they uncover the tools they need to lead with joy, on their own terms. Join us, volunteer, reconnect, or donate.
