POLL: Should NH Repeal Same-Sex Marriage Law?
HB 437 in New Hampshire would return the state to civil unions for gay and lesbian couples.

Over 200 protesters in New Hampshire rallied in support of HB 437 and traditional marriage today.
HB 437 would repeal same-sex marriage in the state and bring back civil union status for gay and lesbian couples.
State Rep. David Bates, R-Windham, a sponsor of the bill, led the rally to . He said it was a reflection of “New Hampshire families who understand what marriage is, the union of one man and one woman.”

A hearing on HB 437 is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. according to the NH General Court website.
Same-sex marriage is also legal in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. If passed, New Hampshire would be the first state to issue a legislative repeal of a marriage equality legislation.
