PTA Play Nominated for Theatre Awards

CATS receives three nominations and Laura Majore wins Theatre Hero Award

CATS Nominated For Multiple New Hampshire Theatre Awards by Janine Leffler Last spring's PTA production, CATS was recognized at the New Hampshire Theatre Awards at the Capitol Center For The Arts in Concord on Saturday January 23rd. The talented cast was asked to perform the musical number Skimbleshanks The Railway Cat at the Awards Show and the performance went off without a hitch. CATS was nominated in three categories; Best Community Production, Best Actor for Gary Evans for his portrayal of Munsketap and Mary Selvoski, Mary Jo Smith and Laura Majore for Best Costume Design. The costume design team was recognized with a top three nomination. Laura Majore was also recognized with a Theatre Hero award for her dedication to the PTA. According to the NH Theatre Awards Website the Theatre Hero Award is a non-adjudicated award and a person is chosen by theatre companies who they deem worthy of acknowledgement for their contributions to the theatre company to theatre at large. Criteria and selection process for this award is chosen by the theatre company. CATS was directed by Alan D. Kaplan and Roger Hurd, music directed by Ken Grinnell and choreographed by Vouli Anthimidou. Congratulations to all.
