Alleged Corrections Officer Assaulter Sought by Marshals

Alert: Derek Camerato is also wanted for failing to appear in court on an attempted burglary charge.

CONCORD, NH - This week’s District of New Hampshire - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force Fugitive of the Week is Derek S. Camerato, 21, who is wanted on two outstanding warrants.

According to U.S. Marshals, Camerato allegedly failed to appear in Belknap County Court on an attempted burglary charge from 2014. He is also wanted for failure to appear in Hillsborough County Court on three counts of assault on a corrections officer, after an alleged incident at the county jail.

According to a WMUR-TV report from October 2014, a woman in Laconia allegedly saw Camerato trying to kick in the front door of her neighbor’s house. He was also arrested by Manchester Police in November 2015 on a warrant.

Camerato is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs around 220 lbs. He has blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, and medium skin tone.

β€œCamerato was last known to reside in Manchester, NH, but has friends, associates and family throughout Hillsborough and Belknap Counties,” according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White. β€œIf you have any information about the whereabouts, or have observed a person that resembles Camerato, please contact the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, or your local police.”

The warrants against Camerato were issued on March 24, and April 5, 2016.
