Composers' Signed Receipt Up For Bid
Bidders have exceeded expectations with RR Auction's latest item from Frederic Chopin.

A receipt signed by famous Polish composer and pianist Frederic Chopin is rising in popularity at Amherst's , according to the LA Times.
The receipt dates back to March 1840, and is for the sale of the copyrights to his compositions Grande Valse brillante Opus 42 and Quatre Mazurkas, Op. 41. TheΒ Polish composer (1810β1849) is considered one of the great masters of Romantic music.Β
The one-page document was expected to sell for $10-15,000, but it has already passed $25,000.

Other signed itemsinclude a letter from J. D. Salinger and an original blueprint ofΒ Frank Lloyd Wright's masterwork Fallingwater.
